As a bookworm, I always feel as though I should be more obvious about the fact that I read so much. For some reason, when I meet new people or have new friends over to my house, they don't immediately assume that I'm a bookworm. So I've figured out a solution! Below are the cutest (and most obvious) bookworm decor for your humble abodes. Invisible Metal Bookshelf This artsy bookshelf is perfect to hang it your front entryway, so everyone who enters your home can see immediately that you love books (either that or you're a witch who can levitate books). Go Away I'm Reading Box Sign I actually received this sign as a gift from a friend who knows me too well. It's very useful because I'm always reading. So next time someone comes over, they'll see that sign sitting on a table and understand that you are a very intense bookworm. Jane Austen 6.5 oz Glass Candle I'm not a huge fan of Jane Austen's works, but even I can admit she's a classic. This one is for all you classic lovers/snobs (just kidding!). You want people to know you're sophisticated and cultured? Light a Jane Austen candle. Professional Bookworm Mug This item is for when you're having a friend over for coffee or tea. You can give them an ordinary mug and they'll be so jealous of your mug that maybe they'll consider becoming a professional bookworm as well! Of course, then you'll both be too busy reading to have each other over for coffee or tea. Library Book Stamp This is more subtle than many other items on this list, but it's adorable and practical. Next time you lend someone a book, they'll see that you're a serious bookworm, serious enough to have stamped each one of your books. It's so cute; I will definitely be putting this one my Christmas wish list! Just One More Chapter Pillow Have you ever been sitting there reading and realized you're actually really uncomfortable? Well this one's for you. You can lean against a bookworm pillow! It also comes in handy if you have friends over, because it's not exactly subtle. LIBRARY Sign Plaque Wooden This is the most extra thing on my list. You could hang it above your bookshelf, or you could as I would and hang it above your front door. Because let's be honest, your entire house is a library. Also, this sign comes with tons of different color options, so there's definitely something that will match the exterior of your house! Hopefully this list either inspired your holiday wish list or made you realize how many bookworm products you're missing out on. Now treat yo self and buy a couple. In case you were wondering, the site I found these products is listed under the pictures, and if you click on the image itself, it should take you to the exact product. The site of the product is listed because the items from Barnes & Noble are significantly more expensive that those from Etsy.
Much love, Bookworm

Considering the large workload I'm being given this school year, I think it's safe to say there won't be nearly as much blogging as last year. There also won't be as much reading time in Bookwormland, so there won't be nearly as many reviews going up. This also means that To-Reads, Recaps, and Favorites, will be few and far between. My current plan will be to have a compare-and-contrast-type series where I'll take two books I read that month and compare them. If anyone has ideas for the series, please tell me in the comments below. I need help! I'll also be doing book theme songs or series playlists every now and then. I feel like those are not only fun to read but also fun for me to write. I've also gotten a lot more into music this year.
I may also do featured authors, spotlight releases, and other fun stuff like that. Or a Harry Potter series? I have so many ideas and not enough time to pick out the good ones, so guys, please tell me what sounds best! I've also created a poll below so you guys can tell me what series I should do. Much love, Bookworm Hey. How are you? I know it's been a while, and I'm really sorry, but let's just do a quick recap of everything that happened in the 3 weeks that I abandoned this blog. 1. Taylor Swift Released 2 Singles and Announced A New AlbumAt the end of August Taylor Swift announced her new album Reputation, which will be released on November 10th. Then, on the 24th, she released the lyric video for Look What You Made Me Do, breaking all the records, which was soon followed by an iconic music video. This morning she released a second single, ...Ready For It? She raps, bops, and sings like she's still in the Fearless era. It's great. Now I also noticed that the chorus sounds familiar, so I did some digging and found out the first line of the chorus is almost identical to the first line of Untouchable's chorus. Taylor's so iconic that she plagiarized herself! 2. Hurricane HarveyA hurricane hit Houston, Texas a week ago, leading to mass flooding, over 40 deaths, and a power plant explosion. A lot of celebrities (who are rich) donated a lot of money thanks to some pushing from comedian Kevin Hart. Meanwhile, the picky normal people wasted time criticizing FLOTUS Melania Trump's shoes when she and POTUS went to Houston. I'm not either of their biggest fan by a long stretch, but if your going to criticize them for something, find something better than shoes! My thoughts and prayers are with Houston in this time of devastation and unity. I hope we can come together to help the good people affected by this natural disaster. 3. Justin Trudeau Fell Out of A KayakYes, you read that correctly. Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau was kayaking near Vancouver Island when he fell out of it. And this was before he even really got into the boat. Luckily, he laughed it off and none of his amazing socks were affected in the process. That's all! If you're glad to have me back on this blog, smile!
Much love, Bookworm I was looking at the YA genre's new releases on Goodreads when I came up with a great idea for a post. Using only the title of a book, make a "educated" guess as to what the story is about. I'm going to fail, but hopefully it's entertaining! PREDICTIONS:1. This book is a collection of heartbreaking backstories for vile villains, with famous authors trying to persuade us that we feel for them. Maybe they'll turn you, but most likely not. I also predict that Marissa Meyer's story will be the best. 2. Girl moves to new town after parent issues (maybe divorce), meets boy, starts dating boy, falls in love with boy. Something bad and very dramatic happens, relationship is almost ruined, but then true love brings them back together. And they live happily ever after! 3. Girl and boy meet in the city by chance, many years after they broke up. After some drama, they decide to get back together, and wind up falling back in love. Of course, there's some conflict (possibly old drama or an ex), but the lovebirds overcome it and live happily ever after. 4. Someone dies, but can still see what's happening in their friends' lives, and is forced to deal with their actions and the consequences of their deaths. Heartbreaking, poignant, and pragmatic are probably used by other authors to describe this story. SO.... WAS I RIGHT?
I hope you enjoyed this post. Sorry if it reads a bit rushed. I'm writing this before a flight.
Much love, Bookworm LGBTQ+ representation in YA fiction is pretty uncommon, though lately we've been getting a lot better and diversity in the casts of stories. However, too many LGBTQ+ characters are stuck as the gay sidekick, so I decided to compile a book list of stories with either a gay protagonist or a prominent gay character. Everything Leads To YouEmi is a set designer in Hollywood, making movies perfect. But her real life relationships and a mess. She keeps going back to the same girl, but everything changes when she meets Ava, the enigmatic mystery of a silver screen legend. Emi is already out, and not a teen anymore, so she's overcome the whole "am i gay?" thing. It's just a simple love story and the characters happen to be gay. AshMost LGBTQ+ stories are realistic fiction, but this Cinderella retelling stars Ash, who's gay. She has been chasing fairies for most of her life, trying to escape her cruel stepmother. But one day, she meets Kaisa, the King's Huntress, and falls head over heels. Ash has to choose between fairytale dreams and true love. HuntressHuntress is the prequel to Ash. Nature is out of balance, so two teenage girls, Kaede and Taisin are picked for a journey to Tanlili, the Fairy Queen's city. But when members of the girls' party succumb to unearthly attacks and fairy tricks, Kaede and Taisin learn to trust and rely on each other, even going so far as to fall in love. This story and its sequel book are both heavily inspired by Chinese legends and folklore. Been Here All AlongGideon is the perfect student, with a perfect plan and a perfect life. Of course, his plan didn't involve failing for his next-door neighbor and best friend, Kyle. This could ruin him, and it's pointless. Kyle has a girlfriend, popular head cheerleader Ruby. Kyle finally feels like he's got a good life. He has a great girlfriend, an amazing best friend, and is captain of the basketball team. But then both Ruby and Gideon start acting weird, his spot on the team is threatened, and he can't figure out what's going on. If I Was Your GirlThis is the only book in my list with a trans protagonist. Amanda is the new girl in Lambertville. She just wants to fit in and make friends. But she's keeping a secret: why she transferred schools. But when she makes new friends and meets Grant Everett, she doesn't want to keep the secret anymore. She just wants to be loved as who she is. But it's probable her new friends won't accept her once they hear her secret? Because that secret? It's that she used to be Andrew. *dramatic gasp* Ask The PassengersAstrid spends hours lying in the backyard watching airplanes flying above. She asks the passengers her most personal questions, because they're the only people who won't judge her. She asks them about life, family, and what it means that she's falling in love with a girl. With her relationship because more intense and her friends demanding answers, Astrid has nobody to turn to but the passengers. This is a classic gay romance with one character still in the closet and struggling with confronting her sexuality. It may not be the most original story, but it was exceptionally well-written. This post was actually really fun to write, partially due to the fact that I'm procrastinating a lot of things right now so I just try to take a long time with everything else. Just kidding (mostly)! Also I enjoyed these books when I read them, and it's always more fun to write about books you enjoyed than books you disliked.
Much love, Bookworm I will be blogging considerably less in the coming two weeks, due to the fact that I'll be on a different continent on the other side of the world with considerable less WiFi. Sorry about that! Anyway, I'll try my best to write and schedule enough blog posts ahead of time, but I can't guarantee I'll be able to. I'm pretty busy at the moment and I'm leaving soon. But if anyone has any ideas for blog posts I should write, please leave them in the contact box below. My brain is starting to hurt from trying to find new and fresh ideas for posts. Once again, I'm sorry (but not too sorry because who doesn't love a good vacation?) about the lack of blog posts in the upcoming weeks, and will do my best to at least post a couple times. Much love, Bookworm Welcome to yet another month of the year! They just keep coming. Anyway, the following are the books I'm (hopefully) going to read this month. Let me know if any of these are on you to-read list as well! DeadfallAfter reading and enjoying Blackbird, I also find myself really needing to know what happens (I guess the strange cliffhanger worked). This will probably be a quick read, but I'm looking forward to the great writing and original storytelling. Queen of ShadowsWho else adores the Throne of Glass series? It's pretty much perfect, and since the next book isn't even a real part of the series, I'll have to wait over a year for the continuation. That's why I'm rereading the entire series. Evidently, I've gotten pretty far already! Burn For BurnRevenge is a dish best served with your best friends, or at least that's what the main characters in this book think. Jenny Han, author of The Summer I Turned Pretty, has a lot of other novels, so naturally I'm reading some of them. This one sounds intense, so I'm pretty excited about it. The Square Root of SummerTime warps? Memories? Summer? Count me in. This novel not only intrigues me, it may have the potential to make me more interested in physics, which is always good for someone considering majoring in the subject! King's CageI was unable to borrow this book from the library because it literally would have taken be years to get it (not an exaggeration). However, now that there excitement has died down, I can actually read it! I really enjoyed the first book, but almost fell asleep during the second one, so I'm hoping I'll be more hooked by this third book. Thanks for reading! If you have any recommendations for me, please tell me in the comments below. Until next time!
Much love, Bookworm This month is over, so it's time to look back and take a good look at what things I loved in books, movies, TV, music, and more! Also, I'm cutting this so close. I'm literally writing it the day I'm supposed to post it, so we'll see how this works out. Heir of FireI've been rereading the Throne of Glass series because the next book is still too far away. I've been glad to discover that they're just as good the second time around, though it's weird to be reading Celaena's journey from the start again, especially since she's come so far since then! BlackbirdThis book was written it second person, and it was written well. Though the ending wasn't satisfying, the rest of the story was enthralling and captivating, especially since the reader it the main character. It was a little bit weird at first, but I got hooked pretty quickly. Tell Me Three ThingsApart from the predictability of this book (and some stereotypes that were completely untrue), this was a well-written book. The plot was chaotic, but worked, and the characters weren't to obnoxious! Somehow I haven't read a ton of amazing books this month. Maybe it's because I'm reading a lot of sequels and rereading some amazing books. Agents of ShieldThey just got the new season of Agents of Shield on Netflix (finally), so I dropped everything to watch it. It's a little weird, since it's a new story, but still really good. The characters are still as great as ever before, so I enjoyed it. The Great British Baking ShowMost competition shows are intense, cutthroat, and not generally nice. That is not the case with this show. On The Great British Baking Show, all the contestants are extremely nice, and friends with eat other. The judges are more serious, but the hosts are hilarious! It's just an amazing show, filled with weird quotes from strange people. Dance MomsWith me taking another two weeks off of dance, I need something to keep me motivated. Even though Dance Moms isn't as much about the dance as it is about the drama, it still somehow motivated me, so that works! Rogue OneI finally saw Rogue One (thanks Netflix!), and I loved it. The ending was unsatisfying, but it's a prequel and has to follow a specific story, so I forgive them. The acting was great, plot very clear, and the story was simple enough to understand, yet complex enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. Overall, this is a great movie. And I have officially written a post in under twenty minutes! This has got to be a new record for me. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this post and found some useful recommendations in it.
Much love, Bookworm Do you ever hear a song and think, "Wow, this would be perfect for a book I read." Maybe it's just me, but I feel like a lot of songs and books fit perfectly together (ex. The Hunger Games and Girl on Fire). So naturally, I decided to match every book I've read so far this month and match it to a song! BlackbirdEverything, EverythingTell Me Three ThingsSeven Tears into the SeaIt's Not Summer Without YouThanks for reading! I hope you found this post at least mildly entertaining. If not, please comment below and complain about me.
